01Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using SiftVid, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use SiftVid. By using our service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

02What you can do

• —Use the free version forever with no credit card required.
• —Organise unlimited videos on your local computer (free tier).
• —Upload videos to your encrypted personal cloud (premium tier).
• —Use SiftVid for personal video organisation.
• —Cancel your premium subscription at any time.
• —Request a full refund within 30 days of any payment.
• —Export all your data at any time.

03What you cannot do

• —Store, upload, or organise illegal content — this results in immediate termination.
• —Share your account credentials with any other person.
• —Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt our service.
• —Use automated bots or scripts to access the service.
• —Resell or redistribute SiftVid as your own product.
• —Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code.
• —Abuse our support team or other users.

04Your content, your rights

You own your content. Period. We do not claim any ownership or license to your videos.

Free tier

• —Your videos stay on your computer.
• —We never see, access, or store your videos.
• —You have complete ownership and control.

Premium tier (encrypted personal cloud)

• —Videos you upload remain your property.
• —We store them encrypted — we cannot view them.
• —You can delete them at any time.
• —When you delete your account, all cloud videos are permanently removed within 24 hours.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to store and organise any content you use with SiftVid. See the Acceptable Use Policy for full detail.

05Free forever promise

If we ever need to make significant changes to the free tier we will give you at least 90 days advance notice, allow you to export all your data, and grandfather existing users into current terms.

06Pricing & payments

Refund policy

• —30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans, no questions asked.
• —Cancel anytime from your account settings.
• —Refunds processed within 5–10 business days.

Price changes

• —We will give you 30 days notice before any price increase.
• —Existing subscribers keep their rate for at least 12 months after any increase.
• —You can always cancel if you do not agree with new pricing.

07Service availability

We strive to keep SiftVid running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime.

Our commitments

• —Free tier: Best-effort support. We fix critical bugs as quickly as possible.
• —Premium tier: Priority support with 24-hour response time for critical issues.
• —Scheduled maintenance: We will notify you at least 24 hours in advance.

Your responsibilities

• —Back up your local videos — the free tier uses your local storage and we cannot recover files from your computer.
• —Keep your password secure — we cannot access your encrypted personal cloud without it.

08Account termination

You can leave anytime

• —Delete your account from your settings page.
• —All personal data deleted within 30 days.
• —Cloud videos permanently deleted within 24 hours.
• —No cancellation fees or penalties.

When we may terminate your account

• —Immediate termination: illegal content, security threats, or abuse.
• —7-day notice: other terms violations — we will explain and give you a chance to resolve it.
• —We will always let you export your data before termination (unless legally prohibited).

09Limitation of liability

We work hard to make SiftVid reliable, but software is not perfect. SiftVid is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

• —We are not liable for data loss on your local computer — please back up.
• —Our maximum liability is limited to what you have paid us in the past 12 months.
• —We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

This does not affect any consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

10Disputes & governing law

• —These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
• —We prefer to resolve disputes through direct communication first.
• —If that fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
• —You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

For EU users: nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under applicable EU consumer protection laws.

11Changes to these terms

• —Minor changes: posted on this page with an updated date.
• —Major changes: email notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
• —Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
• —If you do not agree, you can cancel and export your data at any time.
